Percussion and Waffle Love!

Ethan has spent the past couple of weeks attending Summer Band.  He played in beginning band last year in school and loves playing percussion!  The Summer Band put on a great concert today!
He played the snare, xylophone and bass drum today!  He has really improved his skills this summer...we found a great private instructor, too!  He have a percussionist in the house!
After the concert...Ethan talked us in to going to the "Waffle Love Truck" that was at Thanksgiving Point... he has been begging for weeks!
We had a great morning!
(I like my waffles better...shhh don't tell EJ)

Vegas Week...

Ethan and I were excited to go to Vegas for "Pink Day"! (Grami's Birthday!)
It was a wonderful, relaxing week!
I spent most of my time loving on this adorable boy!
(Isn't he so cute?!!! Jennie has such beautiful babies!)
Noah and James were able to come down on Friday to join us.
Dad took us all to dinner at Lawry's to celebrate Mom's Birthday.  All our siblings were able to be there except Scott...who is recovering from quadruple bypass surgery!  We are so grateful his recovery is going well!  Keep getting better...

We were so excited Steve flew in from Florida to surprise Dad!
We were able to tend baby Asher all day and then Jennie was going to take him to Jackson's baseball game...but it was 108 degrees outside.  So we insisted :) on taking him with us... and all the grama's and grampa's!  He was an angel and never made a peep!
Here is Linda and Steve and I (I look terrible, but oh well:)  It is so rare we are together... it was so delightful.  It was fun to see all his pictures of Florida.... they love it there and I think we need to go visit!!
After a wonderful Sunday dinner... James, Ron and Dad were having a fun time discussing Hand Engraving!  It was so fun seeing them talking about their amazing talents... sharing ideas and pictures...
What a wonderful week!  Thanks so much for Linda and Allyn for always being willing to have us... we love our families!
(Before James left Utah, he took Mom and Dad Dixon to the Salt Lake City Airport... we are so glad Dad has recovered enough to return home.  I know 8 weeks was a long, hard time for them both and that they are happy to be home.  We loved having them and are so grateful they are doing well!)

Look Who Came to Visit!

We were so excited to get a visit from Kelly, Kalvin and Rhett!
It has been a long 5 months since we have seen them.  Rhett has gotten so big... he is such a happy baby who is very generous with his smiles!  We love these two so much, and Kelly too! (We were missing our Tyler!)

We went to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point!
Pony rides...
 Kelly loved the little lambs!
And Kalvy loved meeting Ethan's new Hamsters...

We were able to visit  Grampa Dixon... and introduce Rhett!

We loved having them here!

He is 13! How did that happen???

Happy 13th Birthday Ethan!
How could our baby be a teenager???  We sure love our EJ and we are so glad he is a part of our family!  We love that he isn't too old or too cool to go on dinner and movie dates with his parents!
You are a tender, thoughtful, smart and talented young man.  We are so proud of you!
Have a wonderful Birthday!

A Beautiful Wedding!

April 27th was a beautiful day!
Ben and Melissa were Married!!
We were so grateful and humbled by the support of so many family and friends.
While my talented Sister Linda and Niece Ally were helping me decorate... Grama and Grampa Dixon came to the Reception venue and brought us some flowers.  As they were leaving I reminded Grampa..."Watch your step!"... he didn't see the step and fell..it was very frightening.  Thank goodness James was there too... he knew not to try to move him and had me call 911... they came and transported him to American Fork Hospital.  We had to continue to prepare for the wedding, but we were all so worried about Grampa.  It was a blessing that 4 of James siblings were here for the wedding and took over with all that was needed with Grama and Grampa.  Jana even got Grama back in time for the wedding! We received the news that Grampa broke his hip.... not good.  He had surgery the next day and has made steady progress.  He is currently in a rehab center in American Fork and is being well cared for.  Grama is staying with us... and we have never had so much laundry and ironing done... I thought I did alot of ironing... but the boys have had their t-shirts ironed and even pillow cases... (I told them not to get used to that!)  We are grateful for his recovery and for the wonderful care he has received.
Grampa apologized to Ben and Melissa for "ruining the wedding... but at least you have a story to tell the rest of your lives!"

Other than the excitment with Grampa Dixon... it was a PERFECT day!  Beautiful in every way!
We are so pleased to add Melissa to our family!

Part of the family... We missed Tyler and his family... he had a Law School Final that day... and Cami and Asa were in St. Louis... (Brad made a whirlwind cross country drive and immediate turn around flight back from North Carolina for the Wedding... we were so grateful he could be here with us!)

 She is a stunning Bride!

 She got him good...
They spent their honeymoon driving across the country... After stops in Nebraska, St. Louis and a fun night and day in Nashville they are in North Carolina while Ben works with Brad... we miss them already!

"Prisoner of War"

Tonight is the opening night of Lehi High School's
"Prisoner of War--the Musical"
Noah plays a German soldier... they have worked really hard on this original new play written by some former Lehi High Students and the Drama Director.  The play is based on the life of Ms. Nelson's Grandfather.  This is a tribute to all those who sacrificed so much to protect our freedom!
We are so proud of you Noah... break a leg!

Lt. Corbin Willis... who this play is all about!
