Nebraska Trip!

A week or so ago I was blessed to be able to fly out to Nebraska to meet our newest Grandson!  I wish the whole family could have gone with me...thanks, James, for holding down the fort!
Introducing sweet Rhett Aaron Dixon...look at that dimple!

 Newest Nebraska fan!

I was so excited to have Tyler take me to his Law School... We are so proud of him and how hard he is working for this goal of a Law Degree!
Of course, you know I am a sports nerd!  Tyler and Kalvy took me to the football stadium and we had a wonderful time!  We even got to go on the field (Grami must have been pulling some strings from heaven!)

 National Championship Trophy's!

Kalvy checking out the amazing conditioning facility...

Then we went to see where Tyler worked last summer for the Nebraska Attorney Generals Office...the State Capital.  What a beautiful building rich with history...so cool!

Looking out over Lincoln, Nebraska from the top of the Capital Building... beautiful!
Tyler came home from school with a gift for the baby... a cute "Future Nebraska Law Grad"onsie!
All too quickly...it came time to say goodbye to my sweet boys!
I will miss you...thank heaven for Skype!  I can't wait to see you at Christmas time!

On the way to the airport Tyler and Kalvin took me to the Winter Quarters Visitor Center, Cemetery and to see the beautiful Temple... a great way to end my trip!

Thanks for the wonderful time!  We love you all and we are so proud of you!

Elder Ben

Our Elder Ben has only two months left on his mission!  He is doing all he can to fit in all he wants to get done in his last couple of months.  He has been such a wonderful missionary!  We are so grateful for his example and his hard work.  He will treasure the experiences he has had for the rest of his life.  He said today in his email..."I've learned so much here, it's been life changing. It's amazing how right when I feel like I'm figuring out how to do missionary work as a full time missionary, I don't have much time to do it. But I won't let that stop the work from moving forward."  We love him so much!
Sunday's wonderful baptisms:

Elder Corbridge of the Seventy came to the Arcadia Mission and did training over the weekend.  Ben was excited to find out that Elder Corbridge is a cousin to his Aunt Mary!  Ben had the opportunity to conduct the training yesterday and had a great, spiritual experience.

A couple of weeks ago, they had the baptism of one of Ben's favorite people...Clarence!  He said it was the most miraculous, spiritual Sunday of his mission!

I know this time of Ben's life will shape the rest of his life.  Everything good in his future will be a blessing for faithful service.  I am grateful for good, faithful, hard working sons!  I am so proud of them all!

Welcome Rhett!

We are so excited to welcome little Rhett Aaron Dixon!
Kelly did such a wonderful job (with Tyler's help) bringing him into the world.
He has a sweet big brother that is thrilled to have him join their family.
The Dixon team keeps growing...and we are so grateful!

Kalvin meeting his little brother...and bringing him a special gift!

Kelly, you are such a wonderful, beautiful Mother!  We love you!
I can't wait to hold you for myself!  I will be there in 4 days... but Papa and your Uncles aren't so happy they don't get to come with me!

I LOVE this picture Tyler sent... All the babies in the hospital receive this t-shirt on Game Day!
They love their football in Nebraska!  Go Huskers... you are lucky to have your newest fan!

Fishing!

For James' birthday (Happy 50th dear!)... Brad arranged to take him on a fly fishing weekend!  His buddy's family has a ranch close to Fallon Nevada, and owns an outdoor/fly fishing supply company called Adam's Built.  They really took great care of Brad and James with all the gear they could need,
great company, wonderful memories.  The only thing that would have made it better???... having Tyler and Ben along too.  Maybe next year!  Thanks to Brad for treating your Dad to a great, much needed weekend away!

Elder Ben!

While I was at the grocery store yesterday I got a text from my sweet Jennie... "Guess What?? One of my old Young Women and Friend Brynn Hewitt (who is living in Los Angeles) just sent me this picture and said she taught a lesson with Ben today!:)"  Oh.my.goodness!! Can you imagine me stopped in the middle of an aisle at Smiths squeeling??!! This was a picture of my boy right at that moment!! That doesn't happen every day ya know... or ever, really!!! Ben is serving in the singles ward... he said the members are amazing are always helping the missionaries with referrals and bringing friends to church.  I am assuming Brynn must be in that ward and invited Ben and his companion over to teach a friend.  What a Tender Mercy for us today!! Thanks Jen and Brynn!
ALSO... In Ben's email this week he gave us his release date... DECEMBER 18!!!
One week before Christmas!  PERFECT Christmas present for this Missionary Mama!

Nature!

My boys LOVE to be outside and enjoy nature.  A couple of weeks ago, Brad called and said... "Come with us to take Asa on his first hike!"... So we all loaded up and went up to Tibble Fork in American Fork Canyon and had a blast!

Then yesterday Brad called and invited Ethan to take "Uncle Rico" off- roading in the hills above their new home...boy did they have fun!

Boys are the best!

Noah had a great experience this summer at Especially For Youth!
He LOVED last year when he went to Utah State in Logan... but this

Late nights meant for sleepy early morning devotionals!

Prayers for Caleb

Our sweet nephew Caleb is having surgery today. Because of his neurofibromotisis, he is having his leg amputated.  He has been so brave!  We love him and pray all will go well with the surgery today!
We know your sweet Mama will be there with you... and Grami too!
Love you Caleb!
