Family Reunion!

We had a WONDERFUL time at the Dixon 2012 Family Reunion last week!
About 60 of us went to Brian Head for 3 days... we stayed in a wonderful Chateau!  All the kids over 10 stayed in the bunk house...oh my!  They had so much fun together!
THE WHOLE GANG!

I was asked to put together "Missionary Posters" for the 4 Missionaries out serving from the family right now... Elder Hayden-Washington Kennewick Mission... Elder Ben-California Arcadia...Elder Jake-Honduras San Pedro Sula and Elder Chase-England London!
There were fun games to be played...

Uncle Andrew took Ethan and James fishing!  EJ caught 4 fish and had a wonderful time!
Noah always seems to be surrounded by cute girls!  Even at the Family Reunion...
Then there was the Zip Line... Even Aunt Nita (82 yrs old!) went down... I wish I had gotten a picture of that... it was awesome!

We made family flags... we were lucky to have James' artistic skills!

We ate lots of wonderful food!! Even Grampa's Dutch Oven Chicken, Potatoes and Cobbler!
We had a family talent show:
The Armstrong/Bergquist Clan...
The Leavitt's... We loved having Uncle Wade play the Ukelele!
 Uncle Mike... "So long, farewell..."

Here we are singing our cheer:
"James and Lisa...the Dixon's you knowa
5 handsome boys make the girls say wowa
Tyler, Brad, Ben and Noah
Ethan makes five, and that's for showa
And if you don't like it...we'll show you the dowa..."
Fun in the hot tub!
We had an awesome time during the "Family Olympics"!  Noah ended up serving for the win in the final Volleyball game for the Championship!

 The Champions!

Thanks to Carolyn and Abby for all your efforts in putting this reunion together!  Wonderful memories were made for a lifetime!

Ethan's 12!

Our Ethan Jack is 12 years old!  It is really hard to believe!  He is such a good boy... very imaginative... notices everything... loves details... wants to be a pilot someday and loves everything about planes... was so thrilled to graduate from Primary and receive the Aaronic Priesthood and become a Deacon... misses his big brothers and his nephews!...
We are so lucky to have you as our son!  We love you!
Ethan's Birthday was a busy day... 6th Grade Graduation and the traditional Dance Festival

Even my "friend" Thurl Bailey was at the Dance Festival! (His kids go to Ethan's School!)
Then a big Birthday Party... Bowling, Pizza and Laser Tag...oh my!

Then James, Ethan and I got up early Saturday and drove to Hill Air Force Base to the Air Show.  Ethan was in heaven seeing all the airplanes!

Do you see those dark, looming clouds behind the Thunderbird Planes?.... The heavens opened and the rain poured and poured, the winds blew and blew!
So... what better to do than hide out in a B-52 Bomber with a few hundred other people to try to wait out the weather... doesn't Ethan look thrilled? We were wet and frozen... but the rain wasn't stopping, so we headed out to try to find our car.  We ended up at the grocery store on base to try to warm up and dry off...and sent Dad to find the car.  What an adventure none of us will soon forget!

We made it home in time for Ethan's haircut!  Thanks Cailie for making sure it wasn't too painful!
We are so proud of you Ethan!  You are a wonderful young man and we expect great things from you!

Tyler!

I received an excited call from Kelly today!  (She always gives me the updates on how well Tyler is doing in Law School...he is too modest ;)  She said Tyler received a call from one of his Professors informing him he had received "The Excellency in Legal Writing Award"!  (with $250.00 prize!) and that he was in the running for "The Best Brief Award"!
We are so proud of him and how hard he has worked to get this far.  He is a wonderful student, a great husband and father, a terrific son, a great missionary etc...  Nebraska has been the perfect place for their family!  Way to go Tyler!!!
