Law School Graduate!!

Tyler and Kelly graduated from University of Nebraska Law School!!
I know he could not have done it without Kelly!  They both worked so hard...we are so incredibly proud of them!!
The saddest thing happened... we have saved up to be able to be at his graduation.  We got up Thursday morning at 4:30 am to be at the airport in time to catch our flight.. it was icy and snowy.  We sat in the plane for two hours while the plane was de-iced.  We taxied out to the runway and were the first in line to take off... and they shut down the runways and the entire airport.  They took us back to the airport.... there was no way to get us to Lincoln, NE in time for Tyler's graduation.  We were so devastated... We couldn't believe we would miss it.
We are so proud of them and all the sacrifices they have made to make this happen! He has received writing awards, he was the president of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and did so well in his classes.  They made such great friends and it was very emotional to leave...Lincoln will always have a piece of their hearts...
Now they are off to Colorado... He has a great job in a wonderful Law Firm that will begin in March after he passes the Bar.  We are excited to have them only 4 hours away!!

Shrek the Musical!

A couple of weeks ago, Noah starred in "Shrek the Musical" at Lehi High School!
He was amazing... in our opinion, he stole the show.
Linda and Sharon drove through snow and a whiteout (on the way up AND even worse on the way home) to be here for opening night.  We didn't tell Noah, so he was sooo surprised and happy to see them after the show!  He just cried...  They will never know how much it meant to have them come and support Noah!  It was really a magical night... perfect company... and we were waiting for updates-Melissa was in labor with our 1st Granddaughter!! We checked during intermission, no baby yet... after the show we found out she was born and all was well!!

He couldn't believe Sharon came... he cried and cried...
Noah played a really huge role... ha ha... a 4 ft tall Lord Farquaad!
He spent the whole show on his knees... we invested in some really good knee pads!
He did such a great job... his voice was amazing!
This is the first time you see him in the show...

His facial expressions are so funny... He really stole the show!

And his "Father"...Grumpy!
His final curtain call... he got a standing ovation every night...
Noah is so grateful he was given this opportunity. Thanks to Ms. Nelson and Randy Blackburn...and so many others. It was an amazing experience!
So many great people have blessed his life and such great friendships have been made.
The sweetest thing happened closing night... Ben came down from Logan (with Melissa and sweet new Everly) to see Noah in the show.  After he gave Noah a hug...he said he wanted to tell Noah what a great job he did, but he just cried instead.  Noah cried and they stood there hugging...it was such a sweet moment. People watching were crying too.  Ben just couldn't get over what a good job Noah did and how strong his voice has become.  I will never forget seeing them together.

Thanksgiving 2013

What a wonderful Thanksgiving Week!
We began the week with the final two shows of "Shrek the Musical"... This deserves its own post, but Noah was so blessed to have so much support! Our Stake President and Home Teacher, Pres. Raines brought his family, Noah's Sunday School Teacher, and several neighbors came.  It was so fun to have them there!
But the best was that Ben brought Melissa and sweet Everly! Noah got to meet her for the first time...

It was so wonderful to have them home!  Then Ben went to closing night... after the show he gave Noah a big hug... he said "I wanted to tell him how great he did, but I just cried..."  and Noah cried... it was very tender!  Ben was so proud of him and couldn't believe what a great job he did and how wonderful his voice sounded... it was amazing!

On Thanksgiving morning we drove to Duck Creek to a gorgeous cabin.  Linda and Allyn's dear friends invited them to use their cabin, and we were lucky enough to be invited!  James and I, Noah, EJ, Brad, Cami and Asa joined the Schlauder clan... what an amazing few days!
We shared some amazing food... as always!
And wonderful company...
We had so much fun playing games... and the event of the week was SNOWMOBILING!  Everyone had a blast!
Jennie convinced Noah to go... wahoo!!!
And...YES... I even put a helmet on and James took me for a ride!  Linda and I went with Allyn and James and had a blast!  A little scary when James dumped me into the snow ;)... but I learned to lean the right way into a turn!
Asa couldn't get enough of the snow!  Brad built him a snow fort...
And he wanted to take a ride, too!
They had a cool slide and fort.... Asa told us what all the animals said!
The kids took a late night ride to the meadow to see the stars.  We followed in the car... I don't think I have ever see the stars so bright.
As we drove back to the cabin, it looked like a Hallmark Movie... (and I should know as I can be found watching the Hallmark Channel every day... I know I am sappy for Christmas movies!)
It was so beautiful!
What wonderful memories were made this Thanksgiving.  We are so grateful for our family... wonderful Children and Grandchildren... We are so blessed!
